New Stainless Steel Front for Beckhoff PCs
Option for C36xx Industrial PC family delivers IP65 rating, giving highly demanding environments PC-based control option
MINNEAPOLIS, November 15, 2006 - In order to better serve Industrial PC users with stringent environmental requirements, Beckhoff Automation has announced new IP65-rated accessories for the company's popular C36xx PC line. The C9900-F212 and C9900-F214 are stainless steel front plates that protect the C36xx from airborne water particles and provide greater application flexibility. This enhancement is ideal for market segments such as packaging, food and beverage production and water treatment.
The C36xx PC series features an integrated 12 or 15 inch TFT display with touch screen option. The PCs have abundant computing power for high-end motion control with an Intel Celeron or Pentium 4 processor on an ATX motherboard. When used with TwinCAT PLC and Motion Control software from Beckhoff, users can design dynamic multi-PLC and motion systems for entire machines or lines that run on a single hardware PC. The C36xx housing is opened from the rear so all components can quickly and easily be reached for service or upgrades. The RAM can be expanded from 256 MB DDR-RAM up to 2 GB.
The C36xx series housing is designed to conform to the ATX standard, ensuring long-term compatibility with any PC components that will appear in the market for several years. The computing power can be upgraded with anything that the PC market has to offer in the highest performance class. If the Industrial PC ever needs to be upgraded, users can easily and cost-effectively swap the motherboard, the processor, the memory or the hard disk. The PC housing, display and touch screen remain unchanged, fully compatible with the technology of the future.
