New Speedmask ® Resin Masks Make Metal Finishing Easier, Faster for Airfoil, Power Generation & Other Metal Finishing Processes

November 1, 2005

Offered by the DYMAX Corporation, the new 700 Series SpeedMask® UV curing maskants save time in metal finishing processes and fully protect critical surfaces. These products provide reliable protection and process simplification for new parts manufacture as well as for overhaul and repair.

Damage to surfaces, edges and internal cavities is easily avoided using the SPEEDMASK 700 Series resins. The masks resist acid and plating solutions and offer a level of protection not available from traditional tapes, lacquers and waxes. Their tenacious adhesion seals and protects surfaces against acids, alkalis, other plating solutions and the debris from HVOF, grinding, peening, and grit blasting.

The instant UV cure feature of these masks along with viscosities to suit all dispensing and flow parameters provides the handling characteristics necessary to speed up and streamline any metal finishing operation. SPEEDMASK resins contain no solvents and do not require the costly solvent recovery systems necessary with traditional lacquer based masks. They eliminate the necessity for time consuming taping and the failures associated with lifting edges.

Three grades are available based upon their removal method. These are the high adhesion burn-off grades, the peelable masks and the water soluble masks.

Masked surfaces are left residue-free after removal.
