New Literature Details Advantages of Continuous Processing

Readco Kurimoto Highlights Efficiency in Mixing Dry and Wet Materials in One Step

York, PA: Process equipment manufacturer Readco Kurimoto, LLC, York, Pa. (www.readco.com), has unveiled new literature detailing the advantages of continuous  processing in a single step versus the many steps required in batch processing. Entitled, “Continuous Processor: Consistent - Flexible – Efficient”, the brochure explains how the Readco Continuous Processors automatically mix, compound, chemically react, crystallize, devolatilize, encapsulate and/or precondition multiple powdered, liquid and viscous materials in a single step to produce a high quality, uniform, homogeneous product that consistently meets targeted specifications. The ability to eliminate batch to batch variations, minimize heat history, reduce energy consumption, speed production, ease environmental concerns and save on labor and floor space in unattended, 24/7 operation are also addressed.

Ideal for process engineers involved in processing foods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, specialty polymers and other products, the in-depth literature illustrates how the proprietary Readco technology accepts the dry and liquid materials at multiple feed inlets and advances the material downstream as the twin shaft, co-rotating screws in the closed barrel create the intimate material contact required for proper processing. Standard equipment such as stainless steel construction, jacketed barrel for heating and cooling, and adjustable slide gate are shown along with abrasion-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and USDA- and 3A-compliant designs among the available options. The brochure also describes how the continuous processors are manufactured based on testing conducted on-site in a fully equipped laboratory using customer materials and formulations to verify performance.
