New Guide Features Dymax UV Light Curing Systems; UV Process Design, Set Up & Monitoring Information

A new guide from the DYMAX Corporation features a comprehensive selection of light curing equipment along with information on the design, set-up and monitoring of processes for curing UV adhesives and coatings. Pros and cons comparing light curing processes with other processes, as well as how to choose the best process for a particular application is covered. The guide provides tips on maximizing lamp performance and minimizing operating costs. A table of contents provides quick and ready access to information.

Ten standard UV light curing systems are featured, including spot, flood and focused beam lamps (bulbs) installed in bench top units, work-stations and conveyors.

Three standard durable, high intensity spot curing units are shown. Charts outline the variety of features such as auto-ranging or transformer based power supplies, single and multiple light guides, timed and manual shutters, and foot pedal or PLC control capability.

Five "turnkey" flood (5" x 5" and 8" x 8") and focused beam (1" x 6") curing systems are shown. Besides these offerings, the flood and focused beam light sources are pictured and described as modules to fit into any assembly process. Reflectors, power supplies, shields and stands, shutters and other related accessories necessary for quick and easy incorporation into any lab or plant environment, are described. Modules can be mixed and matched to create effective curing processes for most applications. Constructed of durable, light weight, clean room compatible brushed aluminum, they may be mounted over already installed rotary indexing tables or conveyors, or they may be purchased mounted in complete curing stations or on conveyors.

Two conveyor types are shown. DYMAX conveyors are available mounted with up to four lamps (flood or focused beam) with arrangements to fit most manufacturing requirements. A convenient table shows all available configurations.

The guide also covers UV safety, long wave versus short wave bulbs and short arc versus microwave driven lamps. Accessories such as shields, shutters, stands, eye protection and radiometers are also discussed. The guide was developed to assist customers in designing efficient, safe and controlled UV curing systems and help users optimize their current processes.
