Netting Manufacturer’s New Certification will Help Preserve Erie Jobs

ERIE, PA – October 23, 2017 - US Netting, an Erie-based custom netting fabricator and manufacturer of safety and industrial products, has achieved Part 145 Repair Station certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This certification has enabled the company to start hiring Erie workers who were displaced when a large local repair station moved most of its operations overseas.

“As of now, we were able to employ four of the former employees in hopes that maybe we can bring more on board as the business grows,” said US Netting’s President, Paul Galla. The certification received, “Accessory,” allows the company to work on cargo nets, smoke curtains, seat belts, and other textile products for aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Embraer. The new employees add to the team’s extensive netting, textile, and aviation experience, while retaining skilled workers in Erie’s manufacturing economy.

US Netting saw an opportunity to save some jobs while advancing a line of work adjacent to its current operations. “US Netting now has a combined fifty years of experience in FAA certified repairs and aviation textile products. In the coming weeks, we will receive our Air Agency Certificate, which will enable us to start our repair services branch of business,” said Ed Wieczorek, Technical Executive. “We are extremely excited to embark on this endeavor.”
