ROSSLYN, VA, December 11, 2006-The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), on behalf of the American National Standard Lighting Group (ANSLG), has published ANSI_ANSLG C81.63-2006, American National Standard-Gauges for Electric Lamp Bases and Lampholders. This standard sets forth the specifications for gauges for bases (caps) and lampholders for electric lamps. It updates and replaces ANSI_IEC C81.63-2005.
The 2006 edition of ANSI_ANSLG C81.63 is issued to include, first, a reference to all IEC gauge standard sheets adopted as American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards. Second, standard sheets for a small number of gauges, used mainly in North America that are not harmonized with IEC, are found in Part II. Part III contains any U.S. deviations to the IEC standard sheets, which have been adopted as Nationally Acknowledged International Standards that are published in IEC 60061-3. Part IV contains an informative annex on first versus third angle projection and related standards. Because this standard is under continuous accreditation maintenance, the following are the changes of record in the 2006 edition:
oSX4s/4 Flanged CAPS: ANS Standard Sheets 1-850-1 is superseded with IEC Standard Sheets 7004-97-2. Description: "Submidget flanged base for subminiature lamps."
oPGJ19 CAPS for the H8B, H9B, and H11B Lamps: Adopted IEC Standard Sheet 7004-146-1.
oW(X)(Y)3x16q BASE: IEC Standard Sheets 7004-106-3 supersedes IEC Standard Sheet 7004-106-2. Description: "Red Double Filament Lamps Base."
oGX8.5 BASE: USA adopted IEC Standard Sheets 7004-143-1.
oGX10 BASE: USA adopted IEC Standard Sheets 7004-144-1.
