MONTREAL, March 21 / -- SAND Technology Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SNDTF.OB) , an international provider of intelligent enterprise information management software, today announced that Accenture executive Don Marion will deliver a presentation on the benefits and requirements associated with nearline archiving of SAP® Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) system data at the upcoming SAP NetWeaver BI Portals 2007 conference. The conference, which will be held in Las Vegas at the Venetian Hotel from March 26 to 28, 2007, is focused on strategies, best practices, and instruction for teams that are running and evaluating SAP NetWeaver® technology. SAND will also be exhibiting at the conference in booth #616.

Marion's presentation, entitled "Is nearline data archiving the right choice for your SAP BW landscape?" will address Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) for SAP NetWeaver BI and the differences of nearline storage and data archiving. A case study involving SAND Technology will be included, as well as a discussion outlining the benefits of using nearline storage, including: more efficiently meeting SLAs, reducing backup and recovery times, faster data loading and query processing for reporting and analytics, ability to manage larger amounts of information, meet compliance and regulatory requirements, reduced resource consumption and reduced costs. Marion's presentation will be delivered on Wednesday, March 28, 8:30-9:45am.

SAND Technology's SAND/DNA(TM) product for SAP NetWeaver BI is specifically designed to complement the data lifecycle management capabilities available to organizations as their data warehouse solutions grow in size. With SAND/DNA, users can move infrequently used data into a nearline repository, where it is stored in a highly compressed format while remaining easily accessible without uncompressing. As a result, storage costs are reduced without compromising users' ability to access granular historical data.

SAND will showcase its SAND/DNA software for SAP NetWeaver BI at the conference in booth #616. To speak with a SAND executive at the conference, please contact Denise Nelson, Ventana Public Relations at (925) 837-6277.
