NCTA Names Geomagic Mid-Size Company of the Year


RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., November 21, 2005 - Geomagic has been named mid-size company of the year by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA). The annual NCTA awards recognize outstanding contributions made by information technology companies and individuals in North Carolina.

Geomagic's products enable designers and engineers to transform scan data from physical objects into highly accurate digital models for applications ranging from ensuring the NASA space shuttle Discovery's safe return, to reconstruction of historic treasures, to new processes that speed quality inspection.

During the last five years, the Geomagic's revenues have grown by 2,105 percent. In the 2004 fiscal year, net income rose by 615 percent, the number of Geomagic employees doubled, and the company became international, establishing fully owned subsidiaries throughout Europe and Asia.

Geomagic was recently named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for the third consecutive year, acknowledging the company's consistent performance year after year and placing it among the fastest-growing technology companies in North America. Fu has been recognized as Inc.'s Entrepreneur of the Year for 2005. Her personal story and that of Geomagic's revolutionary technology is the subject of a cover story in Inc.'s December issue, scheduled to hit newsstands on November 29.
