National Insulation Association Honors Redi Solutions for Safety Practices

WAUKESHA, Wis., Aug 8, 2016 - The National Insulation Association (NIA) has honored Redi Solutions with a 2015 Theodore H. Brodie Distinguished Safety Gold Award. Redi, a Safway Group company, was recognized among “top companies that have established structured safety programs to ensure the well-being of their employees, and create safe work environments,” the NIA said in announcing the award.

The NIA hosted industry leaders from around the world at its convention, which was combined with the World Insulation and Acoustic Congress Organization (WIACO) meeting, which convenes in the United States once every eight years.

Redi President Tracy Otterness commented that, “Our team is both humbled and honored to be presented with such a prestigious award. We work hard to make our safety programs part of our company culture at all levels.” He noted that the Brodie Gold Award adds to a long list of safety recognitions for Safway companies. “Careful attention to safety has always been a top priority for Redi and the other companies in the Safway Group family, and we are proud to have been acknowledged for our efforts toward worker well-being that go significantly beyond basic requirements.”

Safway has established numerous proactive programs and processes to continually improve Environmental Health and Safety. These include ten zero-tolerance, Life-saving Safety Rules; a 100% tie-off policy; procedures for Hazard Assessments, Site Safety Plans and Job Hazard Analyses; a Stop Work Authority and Intervention policy; a Safety Behavior Observation Process; ongoing monitoring and training; and a commitment to tracking both lagging and leading indicators.

In congratulating this year’s Brodie winners, NIA’s Executive Vice President/CEO Michele M. Jones said, “NIA’s goal is to help members (including contractors, like Redi, and manufacturers) take their safety programs to the next level to help ensure a safe workplace for all employees.” She added, “We were also very pleased to increase the total number of contractor applicant companies this year.”

All Brodie Award candidates submit responses to a detailed application questionnaire. The NIA, relying on a blind evaluation process, reviews applicants based on their overall safety program, their communication, and safety policy.

As part of Safway Group, a nationwide industrial services provider, Redi Solutions provides insulation, fireproofing, blasting, surface preparation, cladding and coatings. The company was formerly known as Redi Insulation.
