Multi-Core Passive Cooling Technology from GIGABYTE Setting a New Standard for VGA Thermal Performance

-- GIGABYTE 3 Point Cooling and Latest Overclocking Technologies to be showcased at Computex 2008 --

Taipei, Taiwan, June 3, 2008 -GIGABYTE UNITED INC., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, proudly announces their latest Multi-Core(TM) Technology, designed with several leading innovations which provide maximum VGA cooling performance. Built upon the foundation of GIGABYTE's highly successful Silent-Pipe series, GIGABYTE's latest Multi-Core(TM) Technology promises to take passive cooling technologies to a whole new level of cool.

Based on extensive lab testing and previous graphics card development, the GIGABYTE VGA engineering group has designed a revolutionary new VGA card cooling technology centered on the principle of more is better. Utilizing 3 cool points instead of the traditional single node to connect the heat pipes to the fins, GIGABYTE's Multi-Core(TM) Technology provides additional thermal conductivity for better performance especially during heavy loading. Featuring a series of ultra-thin layered fins with nodes of copper, these added cooling points on the heat pipes help to increase the heat conduction ratio, thereby enhancing overall thermal performance. Using 2 vents to take advantage of the natural convection of airflow inside the chassis, GIGABYTE's Multi-Core(TM) Technology is able to efficiently disperse the heat from the GPU. In fact, GIGABYTE's Multi-Core(TM) Technology is so efficient; it is able to cool down the GPU up to 7°C more than by using an active fan cooling design.

In addition to its Multi-Core(TM) Technology, GIGABYTE has developed the unique Gamer HUD(TM) (Heads Up Display) utility to allow hardcore gaming enthusiasts to tweak the highest levels of performance from their VGA card. GIGABYTE's Gamer HUD(TM) utility features the GamerHUD Engine, the world's first software solution to adjust GPU voltage through a software control panel. With multi-level GPU and memory voltage control settings, users are able to squeeze the highest amount of performance from their cards. GIGABYTE's Gamer HUD(TM) utility also supports adjusting of GPU, shader (NVIDIA only) and memory clock settings, for maximum overclocking performance.

Furthermore, an all new PWM Frequency feature is bundled in the latest version of Gamer HUD(TM), supporting 2 modes of optimized power configurations. Turbo mode provides an increase in power, allowing for better overclocking capabilities. Otherwise, you can simply set it to default.

In addition, GIGABYTE's Gamer HUD(TM) provides advanced power savings through its auto-optimized 2D/3D GPU frequency switching feature. When enabling 2D applications such as email, web browsing and media playback, the GPU frequency will be downgraded to 2D mode automatically which saves power consumption. For more graphics intensive applications such as gaming and 3D rendering, the 3D switch is activated, raising the GPU frequency to allow for the greatest level of performance. GIGABYTE's 2D/3D switch can be set on Auto-Optimized Mode (Enable) or Customizable Mode (Disable), according to users' preference.

GIGABYTE VGA cards are designed with the industry's most leading-edge features including high quality, highly efficient components. Equipped with GIGABYTE's Ultra Durable 2 Technology which utilizes Ferrite Core Chokes, Low RDS (on) MOSFETs and Lower ESR Solid Capacitors, GIGABYTE VGA cards provide the stability and reliability hardcore gamers have come to expect from their high-end graphics solution.

Also featuring a state-of-the-art power design and layout, GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 Edition graphics cards deliver the ideal integration of thermal, electric characteristics, digital signals, power circuitry and optimum placement for enhanced graphics performance, improving the stability of the electric voltage and current, for the ultimate in graphics overclocking capabilities.
