MSC.Software Expands Partnership With nCode to Offer Extended Enterprise Access to Durability and Fatigue Data

Fatigue Workspace to Be Integrated as Part of SimXpert

SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - MSC.Software Corp. (NASDAQ:MSCS), the global provider of enterprise simulation solutions today announced it has formed a SimEnterprise partnership with nCode International, a leading provider of computer-aided analysis (CAE) technologies and services focused on product life performance and durability. Through this agreement, nCode will develop a SimXpert Fatigue workspace as one of the first partners to develop on the open SimEnterprise framework, thus expanding the ability for SimXpert users to assess and share key durability information required during simulation analysis across the enterprise. In addition, nCode's market leading technology will be extended to MD Patran to support fast and efficient fatigue assessment in an MD user environment.

"Engineers need to make durability designs quickly, so having simulation information available in real-time to conduct new product analysis can enhance product quality while simultaneously reducing analysis cycle time," said Douglas Peterson, vice president, SimEnterprise Development, MSC.Software. "Expanding access to this valuable fatigue data through SimXpert is the next step in moving the industry towards a simulation process where manufacturers of all sizes can share product design and simulation information as well as leverage best-practices."

SimXpert provides analysts with a powerful working environment that simplifies all stages of simulation, automates repetitive tasks, and preserves data integrity. It is a complete end-to-end simulation workspace environment that enables faster, more accurate simulation by allowing analysts to complete all stages of the simulation process -- from modeling, solving, and pre-post processing to results manipulation and report generation -- within one integrated workspace environment. A single user interface allows for easy execution of multiple analyses without the need to go in and out of other applications. The unified suite of SimXpert's workspaces includes: Structures, Motion, Thermal, Crash and Solution Extensions.

"nCode is pleased to expand its partnership with MSC.Software by creating this SimEnterprise partnership," said Brian Dabell, chief executive officer, nCode. "In creating the SimXpert Fatigue workspace, companies will now be able to share durability results and information as part of their enterprise simulation."

MD Patran Fatigue is available now. SimXpert Fatigue will be available in 2007.
