Motion Industries Announces Agreement to Acquire OBBCO Safety & Supply
Birmingham, Ala. - Effective today, Motion Industries, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company (NYSE: GPC), has entered into a definitive agreement whereby Motion Industries has agreed to acquire OBBCO Safety Supply, LLC. Transaction closing is expected to occur August 1, 2016.
Based in Chesapeake, Va., OBBCO Safety Supply is an industrial safety distributor, which provides product from over 100 safety supply manufacturers. Their offerings include a wide range of personal protective equipment, as well as other essentials such as hazardous storage units, first aid supplies, and gas detection equipment.
In business since 1985, OBBCO serves a variety of customers and end markets from small businesses to large national corporations. OBBCO will continue operations under its existing management team.
