MJS Packaging Announces President’s Retirement and Succession Plan

Key organizational changes to continue our legacy and propel future growth

Livonia, MI (November 2021)- MJS Packaging has announced changes to its management structure. David Lubin, the company’s President & CEO, plans to retire in April 2022 after 29 years with the company. Effective January 1st, 2022, current CFO & COO, Nick Haratsaris, will succeed Lubin as the new President, overseeing the day-to-day operations of MJS Packaging and its Sprayco Consumer Products division. Matthew McDonnell, current Chairman of the Board, will expand his role to include CEO.

David has contributed to the industry through his involvement with the Board of the National Association of Container Distributors (NACD), as well as many community organizations. His genuine passion for the Jacob family, our company and our industry will truly be missed.”

Nick started with MJS Packaging in 2006 as the company’s Controller. His astute financial knowledge has played a key role in all company acquisitions made in the past 10 years. Nick has driven the company to further define and measure its strategic growth initiatives. He was promoted to CFO in 2011 and added COO responsibilities in 2019. Prior to joining MJS Packaging, Nick held previous financial positions with Champion Enterprises and PWC and is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. Nick serves on the board of the YMCA in Plymouth, MI and looks forward to playing a more active role in the packaging industry.

Matthew has served on the Board of Directors of MJS Packaging since 2010 and became the Chairman in 2019. Matthew has played an integral role in the daily operations of the company since 2015, first as the Director of Business Development and then as the Chief Revenue Officer. Matthew’s extensive experience is rooted in the nutraceuticals industry, having spent 18 years in various sales and leadership roles and is a graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz. A fifth-generation member of the Jacob family, Matthew will focus in his expanded role on advancing the legacy of the company while elevating our customers and employees.
