Victor, NY – January 10, 2019 – New Scale Technologies’ M3-LS-3.4-15 Linear Smart Stage, a direct-drive precision piezoelectric micro stage with embedded controller, is now available for purchase on Digi-Key and Mouser. The M3-LS-3.4-15 smart stage is designed for fast integration into compact OEM instruments. It accepts simple high-level motion commands directly from a system controller via standard serial interface (I2C or SPI).

Specifications
The micro stage has 15 mm travel and 500 nm position resolution for precise, repeatable positioning of optics, probes, sensors and more. Absolute encoding eliminates the need for homing on power-up.
All electronics are completely integrated in the 32 x 32 x 11 mm stage housing, making the overall system size significantly smaller than traditional piezo stages. It takes 6 VDC input and can be powered by USB or standard batteries.
The stage has high stiffness, no gears or backlash, low acoustic noise, and no internal high voltage.

Applications
M3-LS Smart Stages are ideal for adding embedded motion to hand-held and portable instruments including miniature microscopes and spectroscopy systems, instruments for biomedical probing or sampling, UAV/UGV controls and optics, miniature camera systems and more. M3-LS stages are easily assembled into two-axis and three-axis systems.
