Miller To Present Free, Online "Heat Stress for Welders" Webinar June 23, 2010


Free, one-hour presentation by Miller Product Manager Bill Gardner and two industrial heat stress specialists will provide expert information on the dangers of heat stress in a welding environment and how to mitigate them through the use of heat stress control plans and proper cooling equipment. Webinar to be hosted by Industrial Safety and Hygiene News (ISHN).

APPLETON, Wis., June 9, 2010-Miller Electric Mfg. Co. will present a free, one-hour Webinar - Keeping Cool: Managing Heat Stress for Welders - to discuss the dangers of heat stress in welding environments and how those dangers can be avoided through the use of heat stress control plans and proper cooling equipment. Hosted by Industrial Safety and Hygiene News (ISHN), the Webinar will be presented by Miller Product Manager Bill Gardner, Industrial Safety Specialist Dennis Vaccaro and Certified Industrial Hygienist Burt Schiller. The Webinar is free and open to all members of the public.

Topics to be covered during the presentation include: common symptoms of heat stress, physical dangers associated with heat exposure, industries and welding occupations most commonly affected by heat stress, national standards for heat stress monitoring and exposure and practices and equipment for reducing heat stress in welding environments. Included will be discussion of how Miller's new heat stress products can fit into a company's existing control plans, as well as testimonials from companies using these products.

A 45-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute question and answer session in which audience members will be able to interact with the presenters. The Webinar will then be archived on the ISHN Web site for one year, during which time it can be downloaded and listened to for free.
