17 November 2006

Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices (E&D) division has announced its intention to launch its new line up of digital communication and input devices for Gitex 2006, which will be held from November 18-22 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The move comes as E&D seeks to establish its presence in expanding markets for peripheral and input devices in the Middle East. At Gitex, Microsoft's E&D division will be exhibiting in Sheikh Rashid Hall.

"Gitex is the biggest IT event in the regional exhibition calendar, and provides an ideal opportunity to showcase new products and establish business networks. Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division is looking to cement its credentials as leading IT peripherals manufacturer by introducing new input and digital products designed to meet evolving user needs in regional markets," said Armagan Demir, Head of Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division.

Microsoft E&D is launching the Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000 as an all-in-one super tool aimed at mobile corporate users. With High Definition Laser Technology, Tilt wheel and five customizable buttons, the Wireless Presenter is ideal for power users demanding versatility and flexibility in use. The Wireless Presenter offers an Instant View feature to instantly open windows with a single touch, houses an integrated slide presenter, and also includes a remote media controller, making it ideal for presentations, slide shows and multimedia tasks.

"Microsoft E&D devices are designed to allow people and businesses realize their full potential by synthesizing ergonomics with high operability. Our emphasis is on delivering intuitive usability with cutting edge design to boost productivity," Demir added.

The Wireless Presenter will be complemented by the launch of the ergonomic Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. Equipped with High Definition Laser Technology for precision, the Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 is shaped in a unique, rounded design with soft touch materials to maintain the hand in a comfortable "handshake" position.

In a bid to further spontaneous digital communication experiences, Microsoft will also be launching the LifeCam NX-6000. Compact and reliable, the webcam was designed especially for notebook computers and offers a 7.6 mega pixel resolution for still photography with 2.0 mega pixel video. The portable web conferencing tool has an integrated microphone, and is part of a new generation of Microsoft digital communication products aimed at promoting easy interpersonal communication online.

"Microsoft's E&D division is keenly aware of the importance of two-way communication in today's networked society. Our aim is to make virtual interaction as intuitive and expressive as possible, and the NX-6000 will satisfy a very real market demand for high quality web cameras that are easy to operate," Demir explained.
