Metal Powder Group Elects Officers
Matthew Bulger, president & general manager, NetShape Technologies-MIM, Solon, Ohio, was elected president of the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) and Bruce Dionne, general manager, Megamet Solid Metals Inc., Earth City, Mo., was elected president of the Metal Injection Molding Association (MIMA).
Bulger succeeds Michael E. Lutheran, Royal Metal Powders, Inc. He joined Hawk Corporation in 2001 to run its metal injection molding (MIM) operation which was sold in 2007 and became NetShape Technologies-MIM. Prior to this tenure he served as a materials engineer and quality manager for FloMet, Deland, Fla. Active in the powder metallurgy (PM) industry, he has presented numerous papers at MPIF conferences, is a member of MPIF's Technical Board, and most recently served as president of MIMA. He has a BS in physics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS in materials science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Before joining Megamet in 2005, Dionne was a regional account manager with Texas Instrument, Inc. He has a BS in geological engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and an MBA from Fontbonne University.
Comprising six trade associations, MPIF is the umbrella trade federation representing the international metal powder producing and consuming industries.
