Mercury Computer Systems announced its collaboration with ASPX LLC

Mercury Computer Systems announced its collaboration with ASPX LLC on a proof-of-concept ground station application of the VistaNav-SPX remote co-pilot system. Live demonstrations are being held at this week's National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) 58th Annual Meeting and Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Designed to improve the safety of single-pilot, high-performance aircraft operations, VistaNav-SPX provides 3D full-terrain views in real time, as well as cockpit resource management and monitoring functions for up to four airborne pilots. VistaNav-SPX leverages Mercury VistaNav 3D synthetic vision software, the XB Series graphics hardware, and airborne satellite communication, to enable maximum situational awareness from anywhere in the world.

At last week's Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Expo, Mercury demonstrated the VistaNav(TM) multi-function flight display (MFD) system with synthetic vision technology. VistaNav helps pilots to better visualize surrounding terrain while in flight. It uses several sensor data sources and integrates several databases to ensure complete ground-to-air support and 3D full-terrain views in real time.
