MaxLite Receives 2012 Lighting for Tomorrow Honorable Mention for New 24-Inch LED Round Flat Panel Pendant

Scottsdale, Arizona - Building on its portfolio of awards and honors, MaxLite® has received an "Honorable Mention" for its LED Round Flat Panel Pendant at Lighting for Tomorrow's (LFT) 2012 Solid-State Lighting (SSL) Residential Lighting Products Design Competition.

Director of Product Marketing Pat Treadway accepted the award on behalf of MaxLite at the Awards Ceremony during the American Lighting Association (ALA) Annual Conference on Sept. 11. "We are honored that our high-quality contemporary styled LED Round Pendant was recognized by Lighting for Tomorrow," said Mr. Treadway. "This coveted peer recognition is a testament that our LED Round Pendant is an aesthetically pleasing and functional decorative LED fixture that delivers style, technology and functional lighting levels in a variety of residential and office applications. As LED technology continues to mature, the opportunities for decorative lighting applications will explode."

Designed with a thin profile that is less than three-inches, the 24-inch, 45-watt LED Round Flat Panel Pendant is available in cable-hung or surface mounted models and enables easy installation in office, home, school, hospitality and medical facility lighting applications. MaxLite, a leading global manufacturer and marketer of the award-winning MaxLED® line of innovative LED luminaires and lamps, has added this pendant to its award-winning FlatMax(TM) family of LED Flat Panels.

Compatible with building controls, motion sensors, timers and daylight harvesting systems for additional energy savings, the contemporary styled LED Round Flat Panel Pendant features a high lumen output of up to 3,564 with an efficacy of 73 and 79 lumens per watt for the 3500K and 5000K correlated color temperatures (CCTs) models, respectively. The LED Pendant uses a standard closed chassis integrated driver, enabling easy repair, while keeping the driver in the fixture and not a separate part to locate. The driver is operated on 100- to 277-volt systems, and supports 0-10 volt dimming. The LED Round Flat Panel uses proprietary binned LED chips with a micro-surface optic incorporated diffuser that reduces glare and delivers an even, shadow-free light distribution and accurate color rendering for an L70 life of 50,000 hours.

This easily installed fixture is hung from a ceiling with three strands of adjustable length aircraft-grade cables, of up to five feet; the fixture can also be surface mounted to a ceiling fan J-box with unique metal pan mounting, resulting in less than 4 inches of projection from the ceiling or wall. Constructed with a molded, enclosed housing and back panel, the LED round pendant is available in white or black finish, with plans for additional colors depending on demand.

Engineered with a power factor of more than 98 percent, the LED Pendant is RoHS-compliant, FCC-, cETL- and ETL-listed and provides a cool operation without emitting radiation or heat. For additional energy savings and reduced HVAC costs, the fixture is compatible with a variety of popular standard incandescent and low voltage electronic dimmers.

LM79 data is available, along with IES files and photometrics. Lighting layouts are available upon request.

About Lighting for Tomorrow (http://www.lightingfortomorrow.com)

Lighting for Tomorrow, launched in 2002, is organized by the American Lighting Association (ALA), the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Approximately two dozen energy efficiency organizations in the U.S. and Canada participated in supporting this latest competition.

The tenth annual Lighting for Tomorrow competition recognizes the best of the new energy efficient residential lighting products and especially those with consumer appeal whose installation and use are helping to transform the market for efficient lighting. The industry has learned that consumers will respond to products which are not only energy efficient, but which also provide the appearance and quality of light appropriate for the application. As a result, the market for both fluorescent and solid-state luminaires has grown substantially and there is now an expanding range of luminaires available for every type of home, room and application.
