MaxLite Brightens up Santa Rosa Health Center Dental Clinic

New Edge Lit LED Flat Panels Specified as Energy Efficient Alternatives to Traditional Fluorescent Lighting

Sells, Arizona - Located just outside Tucson, Arizona, Santa Rosa Health Center was seeking new energy efficient LED light fixtures for use throughout its new facility. Consequently, the organization worked with Arizona-based Centennial Contractors and West Caldwell, New Jersey-based MaxLite. MaxLite, a global manufacturer and marketer of MaxLED®, an award-winning line of innovative LED luminaires and lamps using state-of-the-art LED technology, supplied energy efficient Edge Lit LED Flat Panels, and Centennial Contractors furnished and installed the fixtures throughout the facility.

The contractor specified 41 of MaxLite's 2×2 Edge Lit FlatMax LED Flat Panels throughout Santa Rosa's dental clinic. The LED Flat Panels were installed in the drop ceilings of the dental clinic's examination rooms, dental studio and reception area. Clinic managers and other employees have complimented the company on the crisp clean lighting. The Flat Panels deliver fully dimmable, energy efficient high quality lighting with even, shadow-free distribution, and excellent 85 Color Rendering Index (CRI). The LED lighting offers optimal illumination for oral surgery and patient care in examination rooms and the dental studio. In addition, the Flat Panels provide excellent ambient lighting for patients in the reception area. The new LED Panels use just 40 percent of the power that would have been used by traditional T8 fluorescent lighting in the same application.

"We chose MaxLite for its Edge Lit LED Flat Panels because we believe they are the best value in LED lighting fixtures on the market," explained Charlie Bowers, LEED AP, a Project Manager of Green Solutions for Centennial Contractors Enterprises. "MaxLite offered the best of breed including superior performance, price, aesthetics and energy efficiency."

The LED Flat Panels offer high performance with a documented long life of 50,000 hours, at L70 standards, or more than 13 years of long life (based on 10 hours of use per day) to minimize energy and maintenance costs. The LED Flat Panels are also highly compatible with the dental clinic's control systems and programmable, so they can be switched on/off and dimmed to meet user preferences.

Ideal for the dental clinic, the LED Flat Panels are RoHS compliant (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and operate with reduced heat, and without emitting radiation. The panels, which were dropped directly into the existing ceiling grids, include Emergency Battery Backup for reliability and up to 90 minutes of operation at 30 percent output in the event of power loss.

MaxLite's LED Flat Panels provide ideal and effective functional lighting and deliver a significant reduction in energy consumption, costs and maintenance. The Flat Panels are compatible with building controls, motion sensors, timers and daylight harvesting systems, and are dimmable using four different methods: IR Remote, 0-10V, Building Controls or 512 DMX control.

Most recently, MaxLite received an "Honorable Mention" for its popular LED Edge Lit Flat Panels, at the prestigious 2011 Lighting for Tomorrow Competition. Since 2002, the Lighting for Tomorrow (LFT) competition has recognized the best of the new energy-efficient residential lighting products that are helping to transform the market for efficient lighting, including those with high consumer appeal and usage. All LED luminaires were evaluated by a diverse panel of expert judges, and judged based on their ability to produce high quality white light for their intended applications, while using less energy than comparable technologies.

As a past LFT winner, MaxLite was recognized for its LED FlatMax Flat Panel, and according to the award brochure, "The judging panel was particularly impressed with the performance of this fixture." MaxLite's LED Edge Lit Flat Panels and the Direct Lit Flat Panels are available in 1×4, 2×2 and 2×4 and MRI styles, and deliver even, consistent lighting without shadows. Engineered for high performance and designed to lie in drop ceilings, the LED Panels are suitable for office, school, hospital and dental facility applications. Surface mount LED Flat Panels are also offered for interior ceilings or wall installations.
