Maxi-Lift Promotes Three People, Hires Two More


Dallas, Texas, October 26, 2010: Maxi-Lift has promoted three of its existing employees, and has added two new members to its sales team.

Paul Phillips was promoted to Executive Vice-President of Sales, Marketing, and Operations. Paul graduated from West Texas A&M in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, and joined Maxi-Lift that same year. He attended The University of Texas (Dallas) and received his MBA in 1995. He has also attended several postgraduate seminars in negotiation, sales management, and marketing at The University of Texas, and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Paul is responsible for leading the sales, marketing, customer service, and operation functions for Maxi-Lift, Inc. He is also Vice- President of Marketing for Southwest Agri-Plastics, Inc. He is currently on the IFEEDER Board of Trustees (Foundation). He has served as the past Chairperson for the Equipment Manufacturers Committee of AFIA, and served on the Board of Directors for AFIA. He is also an active member of GEAPS, NIBA, PTDA, AFIA, EMC, IFEEDER, and CEMA.

Bo Fisher was promoted to Director of Sales. Bo graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing. He joined Maxi-Lift in December of 1994. Bo is responsible for Maxi-Lift's sales programs and sales staff. He is also responsible for all marketing related to Maxi-Lift's agricultural product lines. He is the product manager for the Tiger-Tuff Maximum Duty, HD-Max Heavy Duty, and CC-Max Heavy Duty elevator buckets. Bo also writes the Bucket Bulletin, Maxi-Lift's newsletter. He is a member of GEAPS, and currently serves on the Marketing Committee for NIBA. He has also served on the GEAP's Associate Board, Educational Programming Committee and Chapter Resource Committee.

Byron Smith was promoted to Director of International Sales. Byron graduated with a BBA in finance from Texas A&M and a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird. Upon graduating from Thunderbird, he began a 14 year career with Archer Daniels Midland Company, where he worked as a grain merchandiser, commodity trader and as a product sales manager in Salina, Kansas, Decatur, Illinois, and Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. He was subsequently employed by Con Agra as Commodity Trading Director for Molinos of Puerto Rico. Returning to the states, he worked for three years as a Supply Chain Manager for Auto Zone in both Memphis, TN, and Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. In August of 2007, he was hired by Maxi-Lift to be the Territory Sales Manager for the Southeast U.S. and Latin America. He is now the Director of International Sales and travels frequently both domestically as well as throughout Latin America and other regions of the world, promoting both Maxi-Lift's and Southwest Agri-Plastic's products.

Gail Snyder was hired to manage outside sales for the Midwest Territory which includes IA, MN, MO, IL, WI & IN. He will also assist customers with technical issues relating to bucket elevators. Gail and his wife Tamara live in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from The University of Northern Iowa in 1979 with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. His background includes 12 years in millwright construction including installing and servicing grain handling equipment, 8 years as Sales Coordinator for Universal Industries--a major manufacturer of bucket elevators and belt conveyors, 3 years as District Manager for Emerson Power Transmission, and 10 years servicing customers as either an Account Manager or Branch Manager in the Industrial Distribution field. Gail looks forward to using his bulk material handling and power transmission experience in assisting Maxi-Lift customers with their requirements for elevator buckets and related conveying components. John Windwehen has been hired as a Senior Consultant to the grain and feed industry for Maxi Lift Inc and for Southwest Agri-Plastics. John received his Bachelors degree in 1976 from Texas A&M and his Master's degree in 1978 from Texas A&M as well. He joined Cargill, Inc. directly out of college and remained there his entire career of 32 years, working in the feed and grain industry with the animal nutrition division of Cargill. John held a number of positions within Cargill during his tenure, but most notably he was the General Manager of the Animal Nutrition Division in the South Central part of the United States for 23 years. His manufacturing plants were recognized on multiple occasions for placing high in the standings of the AFIA's Feed Mill of the Year contest. In fact, his office was located at the Giddings, Texas, plant which is the only facility in the history of the AFIA's Feed Mill of the Year contest to have won the award twice. John is a past Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Office of the Texas State Chemist which is the regulatory agency that has oversight responsibilities for the feed, grain and fertilizer industry in Texas. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Texas Grain and Feed Association and is the incoming Chairman of the TGFA for 2011.
