The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) was originally formed in the late 90’s to help automotive companies guarantee the highest quality components and products are provided throughout the supply chain to consumers around the world.
To ensure these standards are being met and consistent products are being produced, the IATF requires companies to meet a very strict set of standards in order to be recognized by them. The most recent and stringent certification, IATF 16949:2016 defines the quality system requirements for the design, development, manufacturing, installation, and servicing of automotive-related products.
Because of the high standards the IATF holds to earn this designation, many big name automotive companies will only work with companies who hold this certification, adding to the weight of this accomplishment.
