Marian Completes Expansion Projects to Growing Business at its Headquarters

Marian, Inc. has completed two major construction projects at its Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana to add over 42,000 SF of manufacturing space to its growing business.

Indianapolis, Ind. (PRweb) April 18, 2022 -- Since Marian’s humble beginnings in 1954 as a single location rubber distributor, the company has continued to grow not only in manufacturing capabilities but also in footprint to help solve problems for customers all over the world. Throughout its history, the leadership at Marian has made decisions with long-term investment and strategy in mind. Marian is continuing to grow and expand their facilities at multiple locations. This is the first of numerous announcements describing such efforts.

Recently, Marian, Inc.’s Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana underwent two major construction projects to add over 42,000 SF of space to their growing business. Please continue reading below to learn more about these exciting additions.

Marian began the first construction project to add to the back of the building in the late summer of 2017. This expansion project added 12,000 square feet of space to the existing building. The new space was complete and ready for action in the spring of 2018. The objective of this addition was to create a new space for the machine shop operations. In this machine shop, Marian designs and produces their own die-cutting machines and other converting equipment for all worldwide Marian production facilities. This is very important to Marian as it allows them to build capabilities to offer customers solutions that are not otherwise possible. This differentiates Marian from other converting companies in the industry.

The second construction project began in 2020. Following the addition of the machine shop, Marian made the strategic decision to expand its HQ building again by adding to the existing 3rd floor of the building. This new expansion was put in motion to meet current and future demand for our die-cutting and converting capabilities. According to Marian’s President, William Witchger, “It was an easy decision to expand our building in downtown Indianapolis. We have a great location for our employees and our business. It was fun to design a new floor with modern features while maintaining the character of this incredible historic building. With this additional state-of-the-art manufacturing space, we will add jobs, production capacity, and new technologies to continue to advance our service to our customers and 12 divisions worldwide.”

The expansion project started in the fall of 2020. The project included the building of the new space as well as the addition of an elevator and stair tower. The construction efforts went smoothly and did not impact existing manufacturing and business on the lower floors, allowing Marian to continue to meet customer needs. Construction wrapped up in the spring of 2021. The addition to the 3rd floor created over 30,000 square feet in manufacturing space for die-cutting and converting operations. The space also includes the new home of Marian’s state-of-the-art prototyping lab.

With both projects, Marian made a concerted effort to choose exterior finishes that complement the unique historical features of the building. From the masonry, to the green shaded glass windows, to the oxidized copper tops of the elevator and stair towers, Marian did not cut any corners with finishes so that the exterior reflects the excellence that happens on the inside.

This is the first of numerous expansion projects happening across Marian locations worldwide. We are excited to share more announcements of growth in the near future.
