MAQRO Steps in as SENNEBOGEN Distributor in Mexico

Charlotte, NC - With interest in SENNEBOGEN material handling equipment growing in Mexico's steel and recycling industries, one of the country's leading equipment distributors has signed on to provide sales and service support to SENNEBOGEN customers throughout the region.

Constantino Lannes, President of SENNEBOGEN LLC, recently announced the appointment of MAQRO, SA de CV as the newest member of the SENNEBOGEN distribution network in the Americas. "MAQRO has already established strong connections with SENNEBOGEN customers and prospects operating in Mexico," Lannes explained. "We approached them about servicing all SENNEBOGEN customers in the country and we are pleased to have them on board."

According to Ricardo Vega, Sales Manager for MAQRO SA de CV, his company's 7 locations will support SENNEBOGEN customers and equipment throughout all of Mexico. Based in Monterrey, (with branches in Durango, Torreon, Monclova, Saltillo, Reynosa and Tampico), MAQRO has been a leading equipment distributor in the north of Mexico since 1979. The firm is best known as the regional dealer for John Deere construction and forestry equipment. Its branch network also represents a wide range of crushing and screening, paving and concrete equipment and attachments including top brands such as Bomag, Terex/Finlay, LeeBoy and NPK.

Vega recalls that when he first met with the SENNEBOGEN Regional Manager, the late Tom Skodack, early in 2009, MAQRO was actively seeking a new specialty line to add to its inventory. "Before we went any further, we talked to a number of other SENNEBOGEN dealers, and we liked what we heard," Vega says. "They said they liked the way they were treated by the SENNEBOGEN organization and family; hard-working people and easy to deal with. So we decided to go for it!"

The reliability of SENNEBOGEN machines was also an important factor in MAQRO's decision, Vega reports. Several of MAQRO's customers in Mexico were already familiar with SENNEBOGEN through affiliated operations in the United States, and welcomed the prospect of having MAQRO ready locally to support the line.

"Our plan initially is to build on our existing customer base in the scrap recycling industry and some regional port facilities," said Vega. "We have a fleet of loaders and skid steers at work in recycling yards in the region now. Some of these key customers have expressed immediate interest in acquiring purpose-built scrap handling equipment like the SENNEBOGEN machines."

While MAQRO intends to keep its own stock of SENNEBOGEN machines for sales and demonstration, its first unit is already out on rental. Ricardo Vega says that renting equipment is a frequent part of MAQRO's sales process. "We believe it's a good sales practice; it helps to build customers' confidence in the machine as well as in our service. Rentals take a lot of the questions out of the purchase decision."

Since formalizing its new relationship with SENNEBOGEN, MAQRO has been sending sales staff and technicians to Charlotte, NC, to attend training session at the new SENNEBOGEN head office and parts complex there. "It's a very impressive facility," Vega says. "I look forward to bringing some of customers up there to see the quality of the factory support we can provide."
