Mahr Signs Cooperation Agreement with NanoFocus
Mahr Will Offer Confocal Measuring Microscopes as the New Product Family MarSurf CM
PROVIDENCE, RI – April 17, 2018– Mahr and NanoFocus, the German manufacturer of 3D surface metrology, have signed a cooperation agreement. In May of 2018, Mahr will be offering confocal microscopes from NanoFocus as the new Mahr product family “MarSurf CM.” The new devices will be presented at Control 2018 taking place in Stuttgart, Germany from April 24-27, 2018. As the innovation leader for production metrology, this expands Mahr’s tactile portfolio with optical metrology.
Optical measurement technology is becoming increasingly important for many applications due to its high measurement speed and accuracy. Mahr has concluded an exclusive cooperation agreement with NanoFocus AG and is now expanding its product portfolio of tactile and optical measuring stations with high-resolution, confocal 3D surface measuring systems. NanoFocus was founded in 1994 and is focused on confocal technology.

The confocal 3D surface measurement systems of the new MarSurf CM product range are used in medical technology, the automotive industry, materials management or by manufacturers of electrical engineering. The optical measuring systems have several advantages: in addition to the high measurement speed, they work independently of the material and without contact for sensitive surfaces.
