MagneMotion to Speak at Motor & Drive Systems Conference

Dr. Brian Perreault to Present New Concept for Linear Motors

Acton, MA, January 24, 2007 - MagneMotion, a developer and manufacturer of assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology, today announced that Dr. Brian Perreault, vice president of controls at MagneMotion, will present at the Motor & Drive Systems Conference, taking place February 7-8, 2007, at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Texas. During his presentation, "Control of a Linear Motor-Based Transportation Network," Dr. Perreault will provide an overview of linear synchronous motors including their characteristics, applications and major improvements in the technology. He will examine the benefits of linear motors and present a new concept whereby linear motors can be stacked end-to-end, forming a transport system of any length. Dr. Perreault will also present MagneMotion's anti-collision software features.

The two-day Motor & Drive Systems conference will focus on the latest advancements and economics in electric motor, drive and motion control technology. Topics discussed will include new motors and drives, improving system performance, component technology and materials advancement. Industry experts will also cover market and financial factors such as pricing outlook for motors, drives, materials and their effect on system economics.

Dr. Perreault is one of MagneMotion's co-founders and an expert in micro-processor based control systems. As vice president of controls at MagneMotion, Dr. Perreault is responsible for the software development efforts featuring both embedded and GUI environments. Prior to co-founding MagneMotion, Dr. Perreault was completing his Doctoral thesis work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was a head teaching assistant. Dr. Perreault earned his B.S. in computer engineering from Boston University, and both his S.M. and PhD in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
