MagneMotion to Speak at International Automated People Movers Conference

Dr. Tracy Clark to Present New MagLev Based Personal Rapid Transit System

Acton, Mass. - March 26, 2007 - MagneMotion, a developer and manufacturer of assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology, today announced that Dr. Tracy Clark, vice president of technology at MagneMotion, will present at the 11th International Automated People Movers (APM07) conference taking place April 22-25, 2007 in Vienna, Austria. During his presentation, "Maglev Personal Rapid Transit (PRT)," Dr. Clark will discuss how MagLev technology can be adapted to a PRT system to potentially satisfy all urban transit needs, including trips from metropolitan centers to relatively remote airports. Examining the merger of these two concepts, he will outline benefits such as electro-magnetic switching, lighter vehicles, and robust guideway based communication. He will further discuss how a MagLev based PRT system eliminates physical contact between the vehicle and guideway, dramatically reducing acoustic noise and system maintenance costs.

The three day conference will address technology, policy, design, construction and operation issues related to new mobility tools aimed at urban development. Topics such as safety, security, passenger movements and automated mobility will be discussed.

As vice president of technology at MagneMotion, Dr. Tracy Clark spearheads new product ideas and has overall technical responsibility for a number of projects including the MagLev initiative. Prior to co-founding MagneMotion, Dr. Clark was responsible for developing and designing core technologies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Lincoln Laboratory. Additionally, Dr. Clark held an engineering position at Hughes Aircraft Company where he designed power converters for satellite-based systems and laboratory test fixtures. He earned his B.S., S.M. and Sc.D. in electrical engineering from MIT.
