Company News

Press Release Summary:

Oct 26, 2015 - Hatboro, Pennsylvania – National Manufacturing Day (MFG Day), a day that many companies within the manufacturing industry open their doors to show to the world the advances in the industry and dispel the public misperceptions about its demise, was a great success at M and S Centerless Grinding, Inc. The doors at MS were opened at 8:00 AM and the visitors flowed. People from all walks of life and industry came for a tour to see some of the groundbreaking, and ultimately lifesaving, capabilities that M&S has. Each of the five (5) different types of grinding that M&S performs were highlighted in separate stations that provided arenas for “show and tell” type tours that talked about the highly advanced manufacturing capabilities, and the extraordinary skills, that the company and the people who make it work, possess. Some of the projects discussed included a component to a high-tech instrument that will take a ride on a rocket up to the International Space Station this December, an extremely long and skinny wire that will wind its way up to a patients brain in order to mitigate the potentially life threatening effects of a brain aneurism, and an implant part so small that the detail of the component could only be seen by using a microscope. The VIPs of the day were the thirty (30) students that came from a local high school. The students were engaged by the high-tech nature of the work, the enthusiasm of the employees, and the clean, bright environment of the facility. “I think many of their minds were opened by the visit today” commented John Shegda, the owner of M&S after the kids went back to school. This is what MFG Day is all about.
