Linde Supplying Hydrogen to Shell Texas Refinery Via a New 14-Mile Pipeline

DEER PARK, TX, October 6, 2010 - Linde North America has begun supplying hydrogen via a newly constructed 14-mile pipeline to Shell Oil Company's complex in Deer Park, Texas. Linde's $50 million pipeline network connects Linde's Clear Lake and LaPorte, Texas, hydrogen plants to the Deer Park Refinery, a 50:50 joint venture of Shell and PMI Norteamerica S.A. de C. V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex).

Linde is a major supplier of hydrogen utilities to the North American refining industry and is also a major supplier of syngas products, including hydrogen, for industries in the Houston Ship Channel. The hydrogen to the Deer Park facility will be used primarily for the production of ultra-low sulfur diesel to meet new, cleaner fuel standards.
