Lincoln Electric to Address Benefits of Classroom Virtual Simulation on Aug. 8 at Alabama Technical-Education Conference
Presentation to focus on how classrooms of the future will transform and enrich learning experiences via multi-media platforms, and how welding simulation is doing just that today
Cleveland - The progression of technology has long been studied in classrooms, but as technology evolves it is changing the classroom learning environment itself. How that evolution is happening is the subject of a presentation by Lincoln Electric at the Alabama Association for Career Technical Education’s Summer Professional Development Conference, Aug. 7-9, at the Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
In her presentation, Integrating Simulation in Traditional Welding Training, scheduled for Aug. 8, Sarah Evans, virtual solutions product manager for Lincoln Electric, will explore various ways to supplement traditional welding training with the VRTEX products, focusing on the benefits in adopting simulation to enhance and supplement welding education. She will also discuss ways to use the products as recruitment tools to draw students into various programs they may not have considered before.
“Blending simulation with traditional welding training transforms the school and work environment, providing a much more attractive and engaging location for students,” Evans notes. “Not only has blended training been proven to make training more efficient and effective, but it also increases communication and collaboration, enhances students’ problem-solving skills, improves learning outcomes and helps attract and engage future students.
In conjunction with the presentation, Lincoln Electric will display welding-simulation equipment in Booths 40 and 41, including the VRTEX 360® Virtual Welding Trainer and VRTEX® Mobile Virtual Welding Trainer. Lincoln Electric also will display its Power Wave® C300 Advanced Process Welder Ready-Pak® and Traditional Welding Gear Ready-Pak.
