Lincoln Electric Announces Agreement with Robert Yates Racing

Cleveland - With the 2007 NASCAR racing season ramping up, Lincoln Electric has announced it has formed a team-supplier agreement with Robert Yates Racing, home of drivers #38 David Gilliland, #88 Ricky Rudd and #90 Stephen Leicht.

The partnership begins immediately with Lincoln supplying the team with a full range of welding and cutting equipment, technical training and welding application support. The program will help ensure the team maintains a high standard of safety, weld integrity and performance both on the track and in the shop.

Robert Yates Racing is owned by industry veteran Robert Yates, who is also considered one of the sport's premier engine builders. He runs the business with his son, Doug Yates.

"Doug and I are proud to align ourselves with Lincoln Electric," Robert Yates stated. "Lincoln has a reputation for excellence, high quality and performance, much like Robert Yates Racing. This relationship guarantees that our guys have access to the latest welding and cutting technology and equipment, a vital link to our teams' success."

Mickey Holmes, Lincoln Electric director of motorsports marketing, said, "Robert's teams are focused on winning and doing it with the best equipment, technology and knowledge available. And Lincoln is committed to providing race teams with exactly this. We're pleased to partner with Robert Yates Racing and provide training and welding solutions that focus on safety and performance. Our value-added approach gives our race teams the same welding advantages that our customers receive in the marketplace."

Lincoln is an exclusive NASCAR performance partner and regularly provides welding equipment, training and application solutions to a number of NASCAR teams. Lincoln's involvement in racing extends not only to NASCAR, but to IRL, USAC, ARCA, and NHRA.

The company also hosts an annual advanced welding seminar for an elite group of welders and technicians in leading motorsports venues. About 40 of the world's top race team welding fabricators travel to Lincoln's world headquarters in Cleveland to advance their education, share techniques and learn emerging technologies. And through its Lincoln Electric Welding School, the firm holds classes focused specifically on the latest in motorsports welding techniques.
