LEWCO Conveyor Ovens for Urethane Bonded Filters
LEWCO recently delivered two electrically heated conveyor ovens to an automation systems integrator. The first conveyor oven will be used to pre-heat plastic molds between 92°F - 140°F. The molds are conveyed on a pallet by two lanes of dual strand chain conveyor. Accumulating chain was provided to stage the pallets prior to processing at a urethane pump station where the molds get filled. Once filled, the molds are heated and processed through the second oven for curing. The second oven is NFPA 86, Class A rated and operates between 92°F - 180°F, with two independently controlled heater boxes to ensure temperature uniformity throughout the entire oven. It has a vertical down airflow pattern and measures approximately 78" W x 792" L x 30" H.
Both conveyor ovens feature Eurotherm temperature and high-limit controllers. Along with extraordinary control within +/- 1°F this temperature controller allows the customer to record and document their process variables. Ethernet capability was included to allow the customer to connect and archive their critical oven parameters to their network. This also eases integration between their new LEWCO conveyor oven and their existing process controls.
According to Application Engineer, Jason Bowers, "Our team of Design Engineers worked closely with the customer to integrate the ovens into their current system. Since each oven was over 60 feet long, including the load and unload chain strand conveyors, we [LEWCO came up with simple and efficient modular design to facilitate shipping and easy re-assembly."
