Lesa Qu Named New President of Tianma NLT America


Santa Clara, CA – Tianma NLT America (TNAM) has announced the appointment of Lesa Qu as Chairwoman and President of Tianma NLT America, Inc., effective June 1.



Ms. Qu is also Vice-General Manager of Tianma Micro-Electronics Co., Ltd. (Tianma), Director of Shanghai Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd., Chairwoman and General Manager of Tianma Micro-Electronics Korea Co., Ltd. (TMK), and Chairwoman of Tianma Micro-Electronics USA (TMUSA) Inc., where she has overseen significant growth in revenue. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from East China University of Science and Technology and an Executive MBA from China Europe International Business School.



Ms. Qu has a long tenure with Tianma, serving as Assistant Manager of the Quality Department (1991-1994), Deputy Manager of the Sales Department, and Manager of the Marketing Department of Hong Kong (1994-2003). She became an Executive Assistant to the President (2004-2005), and then Director of the Department of Supply Chain and concurrently Manager of the Overseas Marketing Department, and also Manager of all the overseas sales companies (2006 to 2008). She was the President of Tianma Microelectronics USA (TMUSA) from 2006-2007. She became Director of TMUSA from 2006 until the present, and Vice General Manager of Shanghai Tianma in 2009. She was also the president of Tianma Korea (2006-present).



She replaces Dr. Shigehiko Sato as President of Tianma NLT America, who will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to the company.  Dr. Sato oversaw the transition of the AMLCD product lines of NLT Technologies, Ltd. and the Tianma Group from the Display Business Unit of Renesas Electronics America to Tianma NLT America (TNAM) when it was established on November 1, 2013.  “We owe Dr. Sato a debt of gratitude for his role in growing NLT business in the U.S. and overseeing the successful transition to Tianma NLT America,” said Ms. Qu.  “His contributions have been substantial and he will be missed.”



As for her vision of the future for Tianma NLT America, Ms. Qu said, “We expect TNAM to achieve rapid growth in the American display industry. The transition to the new company has been smooth and TNAM will continue to support existing customers, product lines and markets while exploring new opportunities for growth. TNAM will remain a strong member of the Tianma Group in terms of unified market planning, product promotion, customer support, new product lines and increased capacity.”
