Lenape Forged Products Granted ISO 9001 Certification

Lenape Forged Products Inc. has announced today that it has received ISO 9001-2000 ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2000 certification, effective November 29, 2007. The scope of certification is for the manufacture and supply of metal forged products and the design of fabricated products. The 9001-2000 certification is the internationally
recognized ISO standard for quality management systems. This was the culmination of months of preparation and work to reach this certification which was monitored and accredited by the Steel Related Industries (SRI) Quality Systems Registrar Inc. and sanctioned by the International Standards Organization of Switzerland. SRI will continue to monitor Lenape's adherence to the ISO standards throughout the registration
period ending in November, 2010.
"This is a major, major milestone in our effort to continuously improve Lenape’s overall quality," said Dave Hershbell, veteran Sales & Marketing Manager at Lenape. “We made the monetary commitment and investment in time and people to achieve certification. Our management, including our General Manager, Kevin Shaw, is 100% behind this quality effort "we believe we owe this to our many long-time, loyal customers as well as newer ones."
Kevin Shaw, VP/General Manager of Lenape added, "While Lenape Forged Products Corporation always had high quality standards, achieving this registration is a visible recognition of what was already here, and will help our managers in terms of systematizing their individual goals and objectives with that of the overall direction
of the company. Shaw concluded by saying, "ISO 9001 documents and validates everything we've been doing with some new additions. It really says to our customers we care about what we deliver to you and here is our certification to let you know this is much more than just rhetoric."
Lenape Forged Products Inc. has produced custom forgings for a wide variety of critical applications for over 85 years. Located in West Chester, PA, a far suburb of Philadelphia, the Lenape name has been associated with the manufacturing of complex forgings for a wide variety of customers. Forgings from Lenape are used in chemical/petroleum refining, oilfield, pipeline, nuclear power, conventional power, defense, commercial space launch and other applications.
