Lauren International Expands Leadership, Names Mike Hovan COO
Hovan Returns to New Philadelphia Company
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH) – Lauren International, Ltd. has named Mike Hovan as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Over his 30-year career, Hovan has held numerous leadership positions within Lauren International and other high-profile companies. Hovan’s primary responsibility as COO will be to promote development within the Lauren International subsidiaries.
“Mike brings exceptional leadership experience to Lauren and a great understanding of our business,” said Kevin Gray, CEO of Lauren International. “We are thrilled to welcome him back to Lauren International as part of our executive team.”
Hovan joined Lauren Manufacturing in 1993 as Mixing Plant Manager and quickly assumed greater levels of responsibility. In his nearly two decades at Lauren, Hovan served as President of Lauren Manufacturing, President of Edgetech, and Vice President of Lauren International. He also served as a Board Member of Lauren International until the sale of Edgetech to Quanex in 2011.
After the sale of Edgetech, Hovan became Senior Vice President of Sales Marketing for all of Quanex and focused on building a company-wide consolidated sales and marketing team. In 2014, he was promoted to President/General Manager of Mikron Industries, Inc. – Quanex’s largest business division. In his new role as Lauren International COO, Hovan will work with the Lauren executive team to drive growth of Lauren’s nine businesses.

Giving back to the community is a priority for Hovan. He has been actively involved in a number of community organizations, in positions ranging from volunteer minor league baseball coach to Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Union Hospital.

Hovan begins his new position as Lauren International COO on March 7th.
