Key Technology Introduces Industry-Leading Five-Year Standard Warranty on Iso-Flo® and Impulse(TM) Shakers

October 27, 2006 - Key Technology introduces a new industry-leading warranty on its Iso-Flo® family of vibratory conveyors and Impulse(TM) family of electromagnetic shakers. The new five-year limited warranty comes standard on all Iso-Flo and Impulse conveyors shipped to North American and Latin American customers beginning October 1, 2006. Extending the standard warranty from two years to five years, Key assures customers will experience superior equipment reliability while limiting the total cost of ownership to maximize the long-term return on capital investments.

During the first year of the new warranty, Key provides full coverage of all major components such as the pan, frame, drive, and supports, as well as all wear parts, including replacement or repair labor for the pan and frame. In years two through five, Key provides coverage of major components, including replacement or repair labor for the pan and frame. This warranty is valid when the shaker has been run within design specifications and maintained according to manufacturer's recommendations.

Iso-Flo Vibratory Conveyors
Key's Iso-Flo vibratory conveyors achieve gentle product handling and enhance sanitation while improving equipment dependability. The stainless steel Iso-Flo shakers satisfy the most stringent sanitation demands in the industry, meeting 3A Dairy Sanitary Standards, USDA, HACCP, and FDA requirements, and exceeding NEMA 4X washdown specifications. Scalloped flat bars, sealed isolation springs and a smooth 2B surface finish discourage bacteria growth.

Operating with low amplitude, high frequency movement, Iso-Flo minimizes product degradation and offers quiet performance. This unique design also reduces maintenance and power use.

Key offers Iso-Flo conveyors for product distribution, product alignment, fines removal, scalping, dewatering, inspection, and other applications. Iso-Flo Smooth Cycle(TM) is a scale feed conveyor that maximizes scale efficiency and reduces product damage by eliminating the mechanical stop/start transients common in scale feed applications. Iso-Flo S conveyors, designed to limit vertical acceleration to less than 1 g, prevent product loft and bounce to eliminate damage to fragile products while keeping conveying surfaces clean.

Impulse Electromagnetic Shakers
Key's Impulse electromagnetic shakers are designed for processing and packaging distribution lines that require precise metering and low maintenance drives. Ideal for product mixing lines, ingredient feeding, and scale feeding products such as high-value foods, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, Impulse starts and stops quickly to accurately meter product. Impulse is complemented with dedicated solid-state controls that allow conveying pan amplitudes to range from zero to 100 percent.

The simplicity of a magnetic powered drive ensures low maintenance on all Impulse shakers. There are no sliding or rotating parts to wear, and no belts or bearings to fail. The electromagnetic drives on all Impulse shakers are oil free, helping to ensure food safety and product quality, particularly when installed above open product zones. Rugged construction makes Impulse electromagnetic shakers ideal for industrial applications in harsh operating environments. All units are dust- and moisture-resistant with controls housed in a NEMA rated enclosure to ensure years of trouble-free operation.
