Kaivac Wins One and Gives One

Hamilton, OH-September 23, 2008-For the second year in a row, Kaivac, Inc., developers of the No-Touch Cleaning system won the Green Award at the ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America® tradeshow, recently held in Las Vegas, NV.

According to ISSA, Kaivac won the award because conference attendees voted the firm as being one of the most innovative and environmentally responsible companies in the professional cleaning industry.

According to Tom Morrison, vice president of marketing for Kaivac, all Kaivac no-touch cleaning systems now have advanced three-stage vacuum systems as well as HEPA-filtered exhaust and blow systems-examples of the company's innovation and environmental stewardship.

"This helps protect the health of the user, building occupants, and the environment," Morrison says. "The goal of all of our products is hygienic Green cleaning-thoroughly removing contaminants from surfaces in a way that is protective of the environment at the same time."

Head Custodian Wins Kaivac System
In addition to winning the Green Award at ISSA, Kaivac also gave away one of its 1250 No-Touch Cleaning systems. Sandra Smith, head custodian at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran School and Church, Manitowoc, WI, was selected to win the system.

The drawing was open to all IEHA (International Executive Housekeepers Association) members. Smith is vice president of the Packer Valley (WI) Chapter of the International Executive Housekeepers Association.

The 1250 has a 500 psi pump and three-stage HEPA-filtered vacuum system. Included in the gift to Ms. Smith were also:

o Kaivac's new Dry Vacuum accessory that transforms the system into a high-powered dry vacuum
o The KaiAuto tool for floor care
o A carpet extraction tool that has earned the CRI* Seal of Approval
o A case of Green certified KaiO cleaning chemicals.

"I first saw the Kaivac system demonstrated in June and told church administrators it would be a good system for our facility," Smith says. "Normally, a purchase request can take up to three years, but with this gift I only had to wait three months."

Smith says her church is a 100,000 square foot facility with 1,600 members and more than 125 students in its K-8 school.

"I always like going to the ISSA show," she says. "It's overwhelming and a great learning tool. And, winning the 1250 is like frosting on the cake."
