WARWICK, RI - ATW Companies Inc., a leading provider of custom manufactured metal components and services, announced that Judson A. Smith, its custom and precision tubing products subsidiary, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in business. One of the most highly specialized tube fabricators and machined component manufacturers in the world, Judson Smith is known throughout the industry for its quality delivery and performance, expert design development advice, quick turnaround prototypes, and assistance in design for manufacturability.
Judson Smith started the company in 1961 with four employees. Located in Boyertown, PA, the company was established in what had been a stable carriage house owned by the Boyer Family. From those humble beginnings, Judson Smith has grown to a 40,000 square foot facility, with 160 employees working a three shift operation. The company was acquired by ATW in 1983.
Judson Smith's initial products were coil forms and pointer tubing for analog meters used in electronics. Over the past 50 years, Judson Smith's product offering has evolved, now including custom metal tube fabrication and machined components for many applications in the medical device, aerospace, automotive, and electronics represent markets. Certified to both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 standards, Judson Smith provides customers one place for specialized capabilities, including the ability to hold extremely tight tolerances.
