Jacobs Signs Agreement to Acquire Carter & Burgess


PASADENA, Calif., Nov. 2 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced this morning that it is completing the acquisition of Carter & Burgess, a 3,200-person professional services firm headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, early today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1939, Carter & Burgess is a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, design, and planning firm serving public and private clients in the fields of transportation, water infrastructure programs, building programs, land development, and planning. The company is ranked 34th among the Top 500 U.S. Design Firms by Engineering News-Record (ENR).

In making the announcement, Carter & Burgess President and CEO Ben Watts stated, "We are excited about the prospect of joining Jacobs.
