ITW Announces Acquisition of National Service Center


GLENVIEW, Ill., November 8 / -- Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW) today announced it had completed the purchase of National Service Center (NSC), a leading provider of equipment maintenance and repair and installation services to technology resellers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in South Carolina, NSC entered the AIDC industry in 1995 and has since expanded its core competencies to include service, repair, and spare parts distribution for barcode, data capture, POS, laser, personal computer, RFID, wireless, video surveillance and telephony equipment.

NSC's principal officers, Joe Pittillo and Robert Hicks, will remain with the company and are excited about the opportunities that this change will bring. Mr. Pittillo commented, "This acquisition will provide greater growth opportunities for NSC and enable us to expand our market reach." Expansion opportunities that will be available to NSC through ITW will include acquisitions of other organizations to increase NSC's service offering package.

Mr. Pittillo added, "However, our service only commitment will not change. NSC remains dedicated to the non-competitive service model that has made our services so beneficial to our customers".
