ITT’s Acquires Clippard Cylinder Product Line, Expands Compact Automation’s Actuation Portfolio
- ITT extends Compacts vast offering of small, powerful and configurable components with Clippard’s line of durable, low maintenance and cost competitive cylinders

Westminster, SC, August 10, 2022 – ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT) announced it has acquired Clippard Instrument Laboratories’ product line of durable, low maintenance and cost competitive cylinders. The product lines include stainless steel, brass and aluminum cylinders and volume tanks. These industry-leading components will expand ITT’s Compact Automation product line of air cylinders, linear and rotary actuators used in applications such as robotics, packaging, and workholding.

An example of ITT’s strategic growth plan to extend its product portfolios, the nonrepairable cylinders broaden Compact’s offering with products designed for high-speed, high-cycle applications found in such industries as warehouse automation, textiles, and food and beverage. At the same time, the two businesses share a partially overlapping distribution network, which simplifies the customer purchasing experience while creating opportunities to build and extend relationships with distributors.
With this acquisition and to further serve the growing needs of its customers, Compact will expand its Westminster, SC operations including engineering, assembly, machining, purchasing, customer service and its quality department.
