ITT Hits One Million Milestone with World-Leading Goulds 3196 Pump

April 10, 2006, Seneca Falls, N.Y.: Today, Goulds Pumps, a subsidiary of ITT, announced the shipment of the one millionth ANSI Process Pump-proving that the 3196 pump model continues to be the industry standard after 45 years.

Introduced in 1961 as the original Goulds 3196 ANSI Standard Dimension Process Pump, this pump model evolved quickly into the top selling pump of its kind worldwide. It continues to be recognized as a workhorse in chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, primary metals, food and beverage and general-industry processes. As proven by shear numbers and numerous brand choice studies, the Goulds 3196 is the most popular pump in the world.

Today, Goulds ships thousands of 3196 pumps each month from its manufacturing facilities in Seneca Falls, N.Y.; Axminster, United Kingdom; Choongbuk, Korea; Hidalgo, Mexico and Shanghai, PRC.

61607;Model 3196: The original ANSI pump is available in 29 different sizes with a wide range of ANSI PLUS 153; features for handling difficult applications. The X-Series power ends provide standard features for improved bearing and mechanical seal life.
61607;Model HT 3196: ANSI High Temperature Process Pump. Centerline mounted in a heavy duty fabricated steel casing support, this pump is designed for high temperature applications in the chemical industry. The Model HT 3196 minimizes shaft misalignment and piping strain associated with elevated temperatures up to 700-176 °F.
61607;Model LF 3196: Low Flow ANSI Process. Designed for low-flow chemical processes, this pump features a concentric (circular volute) casing and open radial vane impeller to eliminate hydraulic and mechanical problems at low flows.
61607;Model CV 3196: Non-Clog ANSI Process. Able to handle bulky, fibrous or shear-sensitive liquids, this model features the Goulds concentric volute casing with recessed impeller design. It provides non-clog pumping with minimal solids degradation. In addition, the CV 3196 has the capacity to handle liquids containing 10 to 20 percent air or gas.
61607;Model 3796: Self-Priming ANSI Process. This model provides self-priming services for chemical process industries. Its one-piece casing eliminates the need for separate priming chamber, air separator, valves or bypass lines.
61607;Model 3996: In-Line ANSI Process. Designed for in-line chemical processing, this model features TaperBore(TM) PLUS and BigBore(TM) seal chambers with precision fits for accurate alignment. With its fully open impeller, back pull-out design and sturdy construction, the 3996 is designed for corrosives, abrasives and high temperatures.

"Since 1961, the 3196 series has been the flagship pump not only of our company but also of the entire industry," said Patrick Prayne, Product Manager - ANSI Pumps. "With so many installations around the globe, we're confident in calling this model one the most popular pump in the world."
