ISM 2015 Will Celebrate the Best and Brightest in the Industry
Supply management students and professionals to be recognized through awards and scholarships
Phoenix, ARIZ. – Institute for Supply Management® (ISM®) will celebrate the best and brightest in the profession as it recognizes a key leader in its field, 30 rising stars and 20 future leaders of supply chain management at ISM2015, the100th annual conference May 3-6 at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix.
The J. Shipman Gold Medal Award, ISM’s most esteemed award, will be presented May 5 to a key leader who has performed distinguished service for the cause and advancement of the supply management profession.The annual award was created in 1931 to honor Johnson Shipman, a pioneer member of the New York affiliate of the National Association of Purchasing Agents, now ISM.
The first “30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars” award recipients, revealed in January (https://www.thomasnet.com/30under30/) will be recognized at the conference for their significant contributions to their organizations, professional associations and the industry at large. ISM launched this award in 2014 in partnership with ThomasNet® to generate awareness among Millennials about the rewards of a supply chain career.
The eight winners of the R. Gene Richter Scholarship will be recognized at ISM2015 during the R. Gene Richter Dinner and Reception on Monday, May 4 from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. Each recipient was chosen based upon their exceptional GPAs, and extracurricular activities and overall achievements as a pre-professional. In addition to the monetary award, Richter Scholars receive attendance to ISM’s annual conference and participation in an extensive mentorship program
In partnership with Capital One, ISM will announce 12 winners of the Capital One Scholarship on May 5. This program rewards future supply chain professionals with a chance to attend ISM2015.
More than 3,000 supply chain and procurement professionals will attend the industry’s biggest event and participate in 100 sessions designed to advance the practice of supply chain management. Keynote speakers include former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Sallie Krawcheck, owner of Ellevate, the leading professional women’s network organization committed to the economic empowerment of women globally.
