“100th annual conference promises to be the best one yet”

Phoenix, ARIZ. – This May, the Institute for Supply Management® (ISM®) Annual Conference will host new Signature Sessions presented by distinguished supply chain professionals, and keynote speeches by former Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, business leader and former financial executive, Sallie Krawcheck, and economist Dr. Barry Asmus.

More than 3,000 supply chain and procurement professionals will attend the industry’s biggest event, ISM2015, May 3-6, 2015, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Downtown Phoenix.

Supply chain industry experts from companies including Aetna, Google, Walmart, Starbucks, Macy’s and Del Monte Foods will discuss topics such as integrated supply chain, leadership traits, negotiation skills and cyber risk management. More than 100 sessions are specifically designed to complement the conference’s seven learning tracks that enable attendees to achieve goals that align with their specific career paths.

Robert Gates will be the keynote speaker on Sunday, May 3. He served as the country’s 22nd secretary of defense and worked for eight presidents. On his last day in office, President Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor.

Monday’s keynote speaker is Sallie Krawcheck, owner of Ellevate, the leading professional women’s networking organization committed to the economic empowerment of women globally. She also is the former president of the Global Wealth Investment Management Division of Bank of America.

Dr. Barry Asmus, Senior Economist with the National Center for Policy Analysis, is the third keynote speaker at ISM2015. He has been pivotal in encouraging government leaders, domestic and foreign, to pass tax, property rights and free trade laws and policies.

“Our 100th annual conference promises to be our best one yet,” said Thomas W. Derry, CEO, ISM. “With a full schedule of powerful educational sessions presented by an impressive speaker line-up, this conference will be supply chain’s premier event of the year. Supply chain professionals at any level can take advantage of the interactive opportunities to grow and nurture their global network.”

A wide range of breaking news items will be announced throughout ISM 2015. The first “30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars” award recipients, revealed in January, will be celebrated during various events. Selected by representatives of ISM and ThomasNet, “30 Under 30” honors top young professionals who are already making their mark on the supply chain industry.

The 2015 R. Gene Richter Scholars and the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award winner also will be announced at the conference.
