Iron Mountain Continues Expansion in Ireland with Acquisition of Datastroy

LONDON, November 6 - Company Expands Portfolio of Services in Region With Secure Shredding

Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the global leader in information protection and storage services, continued its expansion in Ireland with the acquisition of Datastroy, an Irish secure shredding company.

The acquisition of Datastroy enables Iron Mountain to offer its customers a complete chain of custody service in Ireland, collecting records in the first instance, through to securely shredding and recycling them at the end of their lifecycle. Iron Mountain will now be able to offer its complete range of records management, data protection and secure shredding services to more than 1,500 customers across the region.

"Datastroy's highly regarded business reputation and their high standards for security are a perfect match to Iron Mountain's business values," commented Mike Ronald, Managing Director of Iron Mountain Ireland. "The acquisition of Datastroy will allow us to consolidate our industry experience and strong global customer base, accelerating our growth in this important market."

Datastroy and Iron Mountain have partnered together on business for the last five years. "This acquisition is beneficial to both companies; previously customers used both Iron Mountain and Datastroy to complete the chain of custody, now they have a simplified service, working with just one vendor," observed David Walsh, Datastroy's founder.

Since Iron Mountain entered the Irish market six years ago, its revenue has grown significantly and has created over 80 jobs for the region. According to OECD figures (2006), Ireland's GDP increased by over 30% for the period 2001 - 2005. With the influx of multinational organisations establishing operations in the region and driving demand for complementary business services, Ireland is an important market for Iron Mountain. Over the last 18 months, Iron Mountain Ireland has also opened up new sites in Cork, Dublin and Belfast and has plans for further site expansion in Dublin.

"Iron Mountain has a long history as a trusted brand in secure records management in the US and with 620 US companies already operating in Ireland, these customers are pleased they can receive the same level of service from Iron Mountain for their Ireland operations," said Ronald.

"The proper handling of our confidential documents is paramount to our compliance with our Data Protection responsibilities. In this regard, Datastroy has provided us with complete peace of mind by providing a secure and professional service," said David Moore of AXA Insurance, Procurement and Health and Safety Officer. "Now that Iron Mountain has acquired Datastroy, we are looking forward to a continued consistent and highly secure service across Ireland."

Following the acquisition of Datastroy, 18 staff will transfer to Iron Mountain employment. The new business will be led by David Walsh as the Operations Director of Iron Mountain Secure Shredding. He will maintain consistency of service to its expanding customer base.

In the last 12 months, Iron Mountain has expanded their European footprint acquiring records management companies in Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The Company has also signed three joint venture agreements with businesses in Europe, including Denmark, Greece and Turkey.
