Sixth annual Wealthfront Career Launching Companies List identifies information technology companies where young people should start their careers

The sixth annual list recommends information technology companies where young people should start their careers.

Published by Wealthfront, Inc., the list was developed with input from 13 of the industry's premier venture capital firms. To qualify for the list of United States-based mid-sized companies with momentum, a company must be privately held, have a revenue run rate by year end of between $20 million and $300 million, be on a trajectory to grow at a rate in excess of 50% for at least the next three or four years, and have compelling unit economics.

Investment in Employees is Key to IQMS Growth

IQMS has continued to recognize record growth in 2017. Fueled by customers' demand for IQMS's manufacturing-centric enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, the company has seen its deal sizes increase, with the largest sales exceeding $1 million. To support that growth in the second half of 2017, the IQMS human resources team has been onboarding at least one new staff member every single week.

Key to increasing customer demand has been the company's investment in solutions and services that strengthen the success of both manufacturers and the IQMS employees that support them. Among these investments has been the restructuring of IQMS product support, providing new growth opportunities for specialists with tiered position titles, as well as nine new management and supervisor roles-all of which were filled internally.

Additionally, new hires in the product support team undergo 90 days of core hands-on product training in the lab, followed by 30 days of shadowing and mentoring with senior specialists on the floor, concluding with both written and verbal testing on product knowledge and an evaluation of call handling and customer service skills. This has led to a 94% success rate among team members that has contributed to a 98% customer retention rate. At the same time, the average employee works at IQMS for four years, roughly twice the overall average for technology companies.
