INVOCON Recognized by Industry for Technology Innovation
14 September 2006 - INVOCON, Inc. was recently notified by the Small Business Technology Council (SBTC), a council organization of the National Small Business Association, that the company is a recipient of the Tibbetts Award. This award is given to small businesses who have distinguished themselves through their achievements in the US Government's Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Program. Specifically, awards are judged on the economic impact of technological innovation, business achievement and effective collaborations, and demonstrated state and regional impact and proven support.
In a letter to INVOCON, Jere W. Glover - Executive Director of the SBTC stated: "This is in recognition of your significant achievements involving technological innovation related to the federal Small Business Innovation Research Program. We are proud to recognize your outstanding work that has contributed so greatly to the success of the SBIR program."

INVOCON's core activities revolve around the design and manufacture of precision instrumentation and communication solutions for demanding applications in extreme environments. The company has developed electronic systems with a broad scope of applications - from underground to space, from military to commercial, from simple data recording to complex analysis, and from large-scale systems to miniature systems. Some of the more visible accomplishments include the more than 12 different types of wireless sensors and data acquisition systems for NASA's Shuttle and Space Station programs.
Named for Roland Tibbetts, the person acknowledged as the father of the SBIR program, these prestigious, national awards are made annually to those small firms, projects, organizations and individuals judged to exemplify the very best in SBIR achievement. The emphasis is on recognizing those accomplishments where, in the judgement of those closely involved and often most immediately affected, the stimulus of SBIR funding has made an important and definable difference.
