Institute for Supply Management® (ISM®) today announced David Cameron, former prime minister of the United Kingdom, will headline the supply management profession’s largest global event: ISM2017. Registration is now open for the Conference, which will be held May 21-24, 2017, at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Focused on “Critical Insights, Powerful Results,” the event expects to draw more than 3,000 attendees from around the world. More than 75 interactive sessions will be part of six learning tracks at ISM2017, and executives from firms such as Google, Toyota, Pfizer, Direct Energy, Zimmer Biomet and others will present. All sessions are mapped to the ISM Mastery Model®, so attendees can enhance their Conference experience by selecting sessions specifically designed to improve their personal supply management acumen.

Keynote speaker Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron will provide his unique perspective on distinct challenges relevant to the key issues the supply management profession faces today.

“ISM members and other purchasing and supply chain professionals who are expected to demonstrate the ability to respond more quickly and accurately to a wide range of demands, while at the same time focus on economic challenges in our global economy, will benefit greatly from the keynote speaker selected for ISM2017,” said Tom Derry, ISM president and CEO. “Former Prime Minister David Cameron’s focus on geopolitical trends and experiences with globally impactful issues, including Brexit, will help those in supply management face an increasingly globalized economy.”

Cameron is best known for being a revolutionary leader of Britain’s Conservative Party and was elected prime minister in 2010. His keynote will provide insights into which current events will impact global businesses and supply chains.

Based on positive feedback from ISM2016, ISM will again feature a number of programs tailored to specific audiences within the supply management profession:

  • Invitation-only ExecIn: A select gathering of top supply management leaders to participate in special executive-level sessions, including exclusive ones with our keynote speaker.
  • Emerging Professionals Experience: Designed for those with 1-8 years of experience who are working toward their CPSM® (Certified Professional in Supply Management®) designation, this experience features a personal ambassador, specialized classes, on-site CPSM certification testing and invitations to exclusive social events.

Team Experience: Participants in this program will enjoy specialized counsel from ISM executive leadership, and preferred “team seating” near the front of all ISM2017 keynote sessions. It’s limited to only 100 people, so interested attendees should act quickly.

For groups of five or more, special pricing is available: If groups register by January 15, they can receive up to 50 percent savings compared to on-site registration. For individuals registering, they can save 40 percent by registering by January 15 compared to on-site registration.

A number of scholarship and award recipients will also be named during ISM2017, including the 2017 R. Gene Richter Scholars and the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award winner. The Richter Scholarship is awarded annually to top supply chain management students from across the U.S., and the Shipman Award is given annually to an individual who has performed distinguished service for the cause and advancement of the supply management profession.

In addition, the third annual 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars award recipients, who will be revealed in January 2017, will be celebrated during various ISM2017 events. The 2017 awards are now open to global recipients. Selected by ISM and ThomasNet.com, the award honors top young professionals who are already making their mark on the supply management profession.
