Inpro's Antimicrobial Handrails Honored with Product Innovation Award

SureContact(TM) Handrails Combat Contamination at Critical Touch Points

Milwaukee, WIS. - Recognizing the company's continued protection of the health and safety of people who use buildings everyday, Architectural Products magazine has granted InPro's Sure Contact(TM) Antimicrobial Handrails a 2012 Product Innovation Award. Designed to combat dangerous microbes at a building's critical touch points, Sure Contact(TM) Handrails use ionic technology to reduce the spread of Healthcare-Associated Infections.

"HAIs have long been a problem, but now we know that simple hand hygiene will never be enough to win the battle against them," said Mark Alan, Senior Vice President of Product Management and Development. "We will continue to obsess over how to leverage technology to protect buildings from endangering the people who use them."

Using embedded Zinc Pyrithione to electrically depolarize and inactivate dangerous microbes, SureContact(TM) handrails create an 'ionic kill' process that won't promote cell mutation. With the active ingredient anchored at the molecular level, and not simply applied to the surface, each handrail is permanently protected and will not leach chemicals into surrounding environments.

The Product Innovation Award program incorporates an impartial product review process judged by a group of 50 independent industry professionals, allowing Architectural Products magazine to present readers with an expert guide to the year's most innovative building-related products. This honor marks the second straight year that InPro has received a Product Innovation Award. A 2011 PIA was awarded to InPro's G2 BioBlend(TM).
