Innovation Team Propels Wisconsin Oven Forward

Wisconsin Oven has been designing, engineering, and manufacturing industrial ovens and other heating equipment since 1973. As a leader in the industry, the innovation team at Wisconsin Oven is focused on driving process and product development forward by utilizing technological advancements in the industry. Their current initiatives range from advanced simulation programming technology to patents that will change the traditional way industrial ovens have been designed.

The innovation team is dedicated to keeping Wisconsin Oven on the forefront of technology in areas such as Machine Learning & Predictive Maintenance, IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things, aka Industry 4.0), and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Other initiatives include the development of the Wisconsin Oven Premium Control System for use on composite curing ovens and adding a laser cutter to achieve high productivity and reduce costs.

Machine Learning & Predictive Maintenance

Machine learning is a process where programs register patterns, learn from data, and make decisions almost completely on their own, maximizing automation and efficiency. Predictive maintenance is very similar to machine learning, where a person or program monitors a piece of equipment. Its condition, prior data, and active hours are all watched in order to provide an estimate of when maintenance should be done.

Industrial Internet of Things

The Industrial Internet of Things is a large network of connected servers, computers, and devices. Having this connectivity creates efficiency and allows for faster and easier machine learning and predictive maintenance through the cloud.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

Our CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) program allows Wisconsin Oven to simulate the airflow and heat distribution in a specific oven design so we can optimize the design prior to building the oven.

Premium Control System for Composite Curing Ovens

Wisconsin Oven Corporation’s Premium Control System provides industry-leading control and data-acquisition for composite cure ovens. The Premium Control System is used by customers in aerospace and other industries where process control is extremely critical. The Premium Control System plays an important role in optimizing the composite curing process and was designed with input from the aerospace industry leaders that will be using it on their equipment.

Laser Cutting Technology

The addition of a laser cutter to the Wisconsin Oven production department provides enhanced efficiency and capabilities. This equipment cuts steel precisely using a high-powered laser. Shapes that were impossible in the past are now being done in house.

In addition to the initiatives above, Wisconsin Oven filed 6 patents in recent months for pioneering technology such as IIoT, energy recovery, high efficiency oven body construction, and more. Wisconsin Oven expects a bright fourth quarter in 2019, 2020 and beyond by leveraging these latest technological innovations to provide customers the highest quality product at the best value.
